Sr. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Software Engineer (Remote)

Role Overview:

The Artificial Intelligence team is an application delivery execution team within the Digital Technology central function that builds value through machine learning and artificial intelligence digital services. The team works with senior leaders to discover previously hidden insights and enables a new generation of connected intelligence and digital transformation through innovation in deep learning and artificial intelligence. The team's innovation provides a competitive advantage, solves business problems, and impacts how we run our business.

**This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote. **

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and code skills to implement large-scale AI software. Writes high quality code that is robust, readable and scales
  • Strong problem solving to deal with ambiguity, bring clarity, create energy, and drive solutions end-to-end. Possess the drive to dive deep, thrive and progress even in uncertain or undefined situations
  • Work in an environment focused on rapid yet thorough delivery of product from specifications and instructions when provided
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to understand program needs & challenges; lead the team to generate and execute plans which deploy appropriate solutions
  • Proven track record of successful project execution leadership, while meeting cost, schedule, scope, and quality commitments
  • Participate in code reviews, raise technical risks, and create documentation helping to ensure all development projects meet the needs of applicable requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General proficiency with coding languages (I.e. Python, C#, Javascript) in a production environment
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes (CI/CD), testing, and delivery for existing and new team products.
  • Understanding what it means to craft software that is a part of a larger microservice architecture
  • Expertise in developing and working with thoughtfully designed REST APIs and SDKs
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services and Azure
  • Understanding of data modeling and storage with NoSQL and RDBMS
  • Comfortable with tuning application performance and engineering for scalability. Knowledge of performance tuning data intensive applications, Expertise in performance profiling, ability to identify performance improvements and memory optimizations

The salary range for this role is $89,000.00 to $189,000.00; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
