What does a great API Software Engineer do?

Ready to make people's financial lives better? The API Software Engineer role showcases your ability to provide technical prowess across the entirety of modern back end stacks. You are empowered to innovate, communicate, collaborate, and deliver with other engineers, product managers, and designers. You will play a crucial role in enabling the online experiences people have with their money to solving for a mixture of highly performant user experiences

This role you can look forward to:

  • Showcase constructive communication, collaboration, and delivery skills
  • Work on a focused team of highly capable engineers, and designers using Agile engineering practices, modern continuous delivery capabilities, and product analytics
  • Dive deep into technical, and business-related fin-tech domain areas while tackling distributed systems at scale with high observability
  • Collaborate with other engineering leaders, UX designers, and product managers to build on each other's ideas to craft effective solutions, and breakdown business problems into actionable work items
  • Have a strong sense of code ownership through development and deploy cycles with autonomy to continuously improve back end systems
  • Build and innovate with purpose to earn client trust



Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • 3-5 years of experience with Java and Object Oriented Programming
  • Experience in all phases of software development using agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and applying them to improve our products



Technical Requirements:

  • Java / Groovy or other JVM languages
  • Container and cloud deployment platforms such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Cloud Foundry
  • Experience with Linux / Unix environments
  • SQL with JDBC and Hibernate/JPA
  • JavaScript including frameworks such as Angular, Ember, and jQuery
  • Spring Framework / Spring Boot and related microservice technologies
  • SOAP and REST web services
  • HTML and CSS web development
  • Git version control
  • Unit testing and continuous integration



Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Experience in banking, financial services, and/or software industries
  • iOS and Android native development
