The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Specialist Solutions Architect to join us. In this role, you'll need to have a passion for modern application development balanced with a technical background in Java and an understanding of challenges faced by enterprise application developers. You'll help customers overcome these challenges by using Red Hat's technologies, including Red Hat Application Services and Red Hat OpenShift, to adopt modern development practices like DevOps, microservices, and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD). As a Specialist Solutions Architect, you'll also need to have excellent communication and people skills because you'll be a key part of the first impression our customers have with Red Hat. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

• Discover and analyze customers' business and technical problems and connect them with the appropriate Red Hat solution that aligns to their needs
• Create enterprise solutions that increase business value using Red Hat OpenShift and the Red Hat Application Services portfolio
• Develop and conduct live demonstrations and educate prospective customers on the capabilities of Red Hat's solutions
• Guide and assist with proofs of concepts, workshops, and seminars
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Professional Services, Support teams, and other Sales teams to ensure excellent customer experience with our offerings and solutions
• Demonstrate expertise by speaking to user groups and at select conferences; share knowledge with your team members in order to allow them to learn from your work

What you will bring

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture with development skills; experience in sales is a plus
• Practical experience with Java development technologies like Spring Boot, WildFly Swarm, or JEE, including Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP), WildFly, Oracle WebLogic, or IBM WebSphere
• Previous Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) experience using Red Hat OpenShift, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Docker Enterprise Edition, Mesosphere, IBM Cloud, or similar technologies
• Experience with application build automation tools like Apache Maven, Jenkins, and Git
• Prior experience with container and container orchestration technologies like Linux containers (Docker) and Kubernetes project is a plus
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a record of developing relationships at technical, management, and executive levels
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
