This is a fully remote position. This position is a software engineer role on a development line responsible for maintaining, building, and supporting our Mobius application. Mobius is a critical business application within Nationwide supporting multiple internal business unit clients such as Agent Center, BAM, Mobile ID and mynationwide.com. Mobius serves as a digital document repository for these clients. Currently, we are working on a large scale transformation effort that involves building out new components that will leverage the skill sets of this position. This position will continue as a go-forward role once transformations are complete. Prior Mobius and digital archive repository skills are not required for this position.

An ideal candidate would possess the following skillsets and characteristics:

  • Full-stack development experience
  • Java / Springboot and Angular development
  • Microservices / REST APIs
  • Cloud-Native AWS
  • Docker container architecture managed by Kubernetes
  • CI/CD pipeline enablement (Concourse/Harness)
  • Apigee
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

  • Solid communication, people interaction, and self-motivation skills
  • Thought leadership with a strong ability to influence and lead continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to document and share knowledge effectively

Responsibilities:

  • This position has a mix of RUN and BUILD duties
  • Support operational improvement activities such as automation, enhancements etc.,
  • Defects Management: Involved in developing a workaround and the permanent solution.
  • Problem Management: RCA Support which includes Problem identification, Impact Analysis and Resolution.
  • Incident Management: Support Level 3 incidents, ServiceNow Requests, Tasks and P0 Escalation
  • Support of security and regulatory compliance and remediation

This role can be filled remotely (anywhere in the USA) or in a hybrid capacity, collaborating in office with the team a few days every other week. Subject to change.

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you'll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
  • Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
  • Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
  • Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. The range for this role in Colorado is listed below. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.$77,500.00 - $118,500.00

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. The range for this role in New York is listed below. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.$77,500.00 - $160,500.00
