The Warfighting & Counterspace Department of the Special Programs Division provides technical expertise, systems engineering and mission assurance to the United States Space Force’s Warfighting Enterprise Division of the Special Programs Directorate.  The Warfighting & Counterspace Department is involved in the development and continued improvement of several ground-based systems that play key roles in our nation’s defense.  This position applies software expertise to a classified program within the department.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide software expertise to a significant classified program within the Special Programs Division

  • Integrate yourself into the Program Office software team and help guide and assess the prime contractor's continuing software development

  • Apply your expertise to assist in the understanding of risks and issues impacting the on going software development and assist in understanding and correcting known issues

  • Be the key contributor to the Aerospace program team in the area of software

 

 

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

 

Project Engineer

  • Eight years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or other STEM area

  • Experience with software engineering concepts and the software development life cycle

  • Experience with software development to include code development, testing, troubleshooting and problem resolution

  • Experience working effectively in a team consisting of government and support contractors

  • This position requires a current Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain additional clearances which are issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

 

Senior Project Engineer

  • Twelve years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or other STEM area

  • Experience with software engineering concepts and the software development life cycle

  • Experience with leading a software development team to include code development, testing, troubleshooting and problem resolution

  • Experience working effectively in a team consisting of government and support contractors

  • This position requires a current Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain additional clearances which are issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

 

 

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Graduate degree in software engineering or other STEM area

  • Experience with software in a ground based radio frequency system

  • Experience with satellite communications systems

  • Experience with one or more Department of Defense system

  • Current SCI clearance
