Cart is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our pre-sales support team and be the technical bridge between Sales and Delivery. Your primary focus will be to represent Cart’s capabilities aligned to the customer’s needs. The ideal person will be highly detailed-oriented, comfortable at an early stage start-up, a team player with a positive attitude, and thrive when faced with complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the unique features and benefits our platform offers and how to speak about them with confidence, knowledge, and credibility.
  • Support our sales process with accurate scoping and estimation. 
  • Collaborate with opportunity owners to provide technical recommendations that serve potential clients’ best interests and align with sales goals. 
  • Consult and collaborate with the brands we serve from pre-sales through solution design. Use your functional product and technical knowledge to educate, problem-solve, and deliver guidance to our customers.
  • Using what you have thoroughly gathered during discovery, create innovative, customer-driven solution proposals and solution designs. 
  • Identify any product/functionality gaps required to deliver a solution and collaborate with internal product and technology teams to define the necessary core product and/or process enhancements to support delivery. 
  • Ensure scope and requirements are clearly documented and understood. 
  • Work closely with internal teams including all delivery units to ensure all aspects of a proposal are addressed. 
  • Become a recognized technical expert with the Cart product set and in identifying potential solutions for brands. 
  • Educate the brands we serve to implement optimal integration strategies, techniques, and best practices. 
  • Assist in developing solution designs and solution design templates that can be used for future integrations with enterprise brands by other solutions engineers and architects. 
  • Contribute to the department’s operational motion by making recommendations for processes and tools. 
  • Actively participate with product management teams on product design and roadmap reviews. 
  • Participate in collective knowledge sharing both informally through mentoring others and formally via internal training programs. 

Experience

  • 3+years' experience in a solutions engineer or similar role such as technical sales engineer or solutions analyst. 
  • Experience with ecommerce systems.
  • Highly skilled at applying consultative methodologies and techniques to influence solution design and solve integration pain points. 
  • Excellent communicator and relationship builder with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience. 
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously; highly motivated and able to work against aggressive schedules. 
  • Willingness to travel when necessary.
