The Opportunity

Delaware North is hiring a Solutions Engineer to join our information technology team at our Global Headquarters in Buffalo, New York or on a remote basis. As a Solution Engineer, you will c reate compelling digital experiences to help Delaware North and our Clients deliver the ultimate guest/customer experiences. This position contributes to the evolution of our gaming and lodging product lines, and drives executing the technical changes required to create new guest experiences and enhance existing solutions. The role will guide requirements elicitation, contribute in vetting solution options, oversee day-to-day engineering efforts, and collaborate with our testing team to ensure we're releasing high quality, supported guest facing products that meet all of our requirements.

Compensation ranges between $110,000 - $150,000 depending on experience, with generous bonus and benefits plans.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Technical Product Owner and Product Architect, contribute to maintaining an integrated product line roadmap, incorporating our partner's roadmaps to ensure alignment to client and internal stakeholder expectations.
  • Understands documented persona-based guest experience use cases, co-authors requirements for new features, and partners with the architecture function in establishing a future state product architecture.
  • Drives overall engineering efforts for gaming and lodging experiences, ensuring solutions are meeting requirements, delivered on time and within budget, and meeting our technical standards as defined by enterprise architecture.
  • Works with the Quality Assurance team to identify opportunities to build test cases, ensuring requirements are thoroughly validated through user acceptance testing. Co-creates ample support documentation as products transition from our product development lifecycle to client delivery projects.
  • Documents all aspects of our product lines within our product catalog, including correlating our guest experiences to our standard technical solutions, managing our engineering and support documentation for each product line, and maintaining references to critical partner documentation. Leverages the Product Catalog to share knowledge, mentor and create training opportunities to help grow subject matter expertise across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience within gaming or lodging industries is required
  • 3+ years of experience within engineering functions or product management, including experience with technical writing
  • Experience working with external partners to onboard them, introduce their products and services to our environment
  • Hands-on experience with agile project management, including scrum or Kanban frameworks
  • Ability to effectively break down requirements and translate to appropriate-sized epics and user stories
  • Ability to drive the design and engineering efforts across complex gaming and lodging technology systems
  • Deep understanding of enterprise POS architecture, Casino Management and Property Management Solutions
  • Experience with solutions leveraging public cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services
  • Working knowledge of modern operating systems, database management platforms, and networking concepts
  • Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Travel as needed
