Architect, Mainframe Development
This position is part of Fiserv's Bill Pay Solutions supporting BillPay payment products/services. Candidate will be responsible for working directly with development, support, and other internal teams as well as external vendors and clients. The person will also be responsible in setting the Architecture vision based on technology and business needs. The position may require occasional travel, up to 10%.
Essential Job Responsibilities:• Provide overall Enterprise Architecture direction on mainframe application development solutions• Work with Solutions Architects to ensure application architecture algin with the Enterprise architecture• Review and enhance application development best practices• Participate in high level application analysis and design reviews• Continuously interface with application development teams and provide recommendations to improve overall efficiency• Make recommendations to change behavior, mainly for Mainframe development practices• Run workshops with your technical architect peers at our customers to move forward with modernization initiatives and help them to transition their Mainframe applications distributed technologies and to the cloud and to Microservices• Work with Product Management in developing the application Road map• Keep updated on latest trends in Mainframe practices and reflect this in your recommendations to Client/Customer solutions• Conduct training workshops for the application developer community• Train and mentor onshore and offshore application development team members as appropriate• Providing support to Sales Support teams to assist in closing new or renewed business that maximizes Fiserv's ability to implement
Required Qualifications:
Education:• Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 10 years of experience demonstrating required skills and competencies
Job Related Experience:• 10+ years' experience designing and developing secure mainframe based applications• 10+ years' experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, MQ and Db2 for z/OS. Nice to have REXX• Experience in architecting and designing multi-tier applications• Extensive knowledge on various Mainframe technologies• Successfully driven Mainframe technical improvements in terms of practices and coding, for critical systems

Additional Skills/Knowledge:• Working knowledge of Relational Database (MS SQL Server, Oracle), SSRS, HTML, XML, FTP, Microsoft Office Suite• Working knowledge of COBOL, DB2, JCL, MQ and CICS in an IBM MVS mainframe environment• applications
Travel Required:• 5-10%
Preferred Qualifications:• Strong communication skills are a requirement, as this position must build consensus with numerous internal and external resources and effectively influence technical direction of projects to be successful• Exhibit good time management skills, independent thinking and decision-making capabilities• Ability to determine the best implementation approach/methodology for assigned project(s) based on established guidelines and best practices and determines appropriate strategy for ensuring desired objectives• Must be very flexible with learning new technology quickly• CICS Events, Experience with CICS or RESTful Webservices, REXX/CLIST, DB2 Stored Procedure• Experience working in the Financial Services industry is a strong plus• Experience with Fiserv products and services are a strong plus• Good understanding of troubleshooting methodology
The Bill Payment Solutions within Fiserv offers hosted technology solutions for consumer billing and payment to companies of all sizes and industries.
