Description

GP is looking for a hands-on Software Solution Architect for our DevOps team, which delivers software solutions for connected products. This team is responsible for real time processing of IoT data coming from IoT enabled dispensers, partner devices, and other systems. A successful architecture will be scalable, reliable, fast, extensible, and secure, and will create value by enabling connected solution applications and partners to consume data efficiently.

This individual will work closely with business and technical team members locally and around the globe.

  • As the Software Solution Architect you will be the key communication point with the US business team and the IT team members at our Koch Technology Center in India
  • Participate in conversations with partners and customers
  • Supporting existing capabilities and building new capabilities
  • Be part of a team that will enable GP to continue to expand their offering of smart solutions

What You Will Do In Your Role

This position is within the Consumer Products IT organization and creates long term value through development and support of the connect solutions landscape. The selected candidate must be a self-starter with attention to detail, demonstrate good economic thinking skills, initiative and sense of urgency. The ideal candidate would work daily in the following ways:

  • Guide and review architecture and technical designs mainly for processing of IoT messages with focus on scalability, low latency and high reliability
  • Mentoring junior team members on technical best practices
  • Hands on development on key deliverables such as
    • API and Integrations with 3rd parties including distributors, building management systems, and device manufacturers
  • Architecting customer data management
  • Working in an SecDevOps team that is leveraging CI/CD, infrastructure as code and Architecture for CI/CD pipeline, Infrastructure as code
  • Help team to choose the right tools and technologies considering the business impact, time and cost factors
  • Architecture for analytics and reports in IoT based applications
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies
  • Security for cloud infrastructure and data
  • Help QA team for apps automation
  • Analyzing business requirements. Translating requirements into functional and technical solutions
  • Develop functional and technical specifications and cutover plans for project implementations.
  • Liaison with business SMEs to deliver and support required solutions
  • Analyzing problems to provide solution alternatives and recommendations.
  • Creating solution documentation (e.g. Process Design, Job Aids and Configuration / System)
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills, critical thinking, and innovation
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Working independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Continuous research on current and emerging technologies and propose changes where appropriate
  • Asses business impact of technical solutions and provide guidance to the team to select the right option


The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:

  • 10+ Yrs experience in software development
  • Hands on experience with API's both building and consuming
  • Hands on experience with databases building and data modeling
  • Recent hands on coding experience in Java or Go
  • Experience with high transaction data processing
  • Hands on experience with AWS

  • Experience with the full CI/CD lifecycle
  • Experience with test automation
