Role Summary
This is a customer-facing role that serves as a liaison between customer engagement teams and multiple internal teams, systems engineering, R&D and product managers. It requires experience in MNOs 4G/5G service-layer architectures, with a focus on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Voice (VoLTE) and Messaging services (voice, text, chat, multimedia); including related topics such as roaming, MNP, UDR and other network databases; being knowledgeable in the OSS/BSS integrations required, including policy and charging, device management, provisioning, and orchestration. Should have good understanding of Cloud-based deployments and technologies: on-premises, hybrid, and public cloud architectures.
The resource will lead technical customer engagements from a solution point of view, being able to engage with customer at a technical solution discussion level. Responsible for end-to-end solution development, drive feature discussions with customer and internally with multiple technical stakeholders, owning the creation and maintenance of High Level Description (HLD) documents; performing solution lifecycle management, from initial design workshops throughout implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customer at various levels (customer engineering, operations, tech marketing), ranging from technical call flow reviews to discussions with product and business areas. Interact with internal project, product and R&D teams.
- Capable of understanding solution use cases, performing technical gap analysis, and generating Change Requests on the relevant product(s) to meet the target solution design.
- Creation of design/solution documents, proposals, and other technical materials in conjunction with regional and global Mavenir staff of the products that are part of an end to end solution.
- On a wider perspective, resource contributes to the development and refinement of Mavenir's vision and strategy, understanding the product portfolio, being able to discuss current and new solutions with customers.
- Resource represents Mavenir's solution capability to the customer as part of the solution lifecycle process.
Job Requirements
- Demonstrate previous experience leading solution design of 4G and 5G VoLTE and IMS solutions, including relevant OSS/BSS integrations especially billing, charging, provisioning, FCAPS, data analytics and orchestration.
- Versed in core mobile technologies such as on EPC/VoLTE/ IMS; messaging technologies such as SMS over IP and RCS, SMS, MMS and voicemail; voice/messaging/data roaming architectures and protocols
- Able to use and discuss 3GPP/GSMA/OMA/ETSI/IETF/ONAP documents and other standards related to telecom solutions.
- Proficient understanding and discussing end to end solutions flows involving SIP, Diameter, Web services, XML, JSON, HTTP(S), REST, Websocket, SOAP and various other APIs.
- Knowledge of related enterprise segment solutions, such as IP Centrex, SIP Trunking, Unified Communications, Conferencing, etc is a plus.
- Understanding of the software development process of carrier class software, including software lifecycle management, as well as automation and integration to CI/CD chains.
- Network based, distributed databases i.e. UDR, UDM, HLR, HSS and technologies (Ceph, Couch, etc)
- Understanding of public, hybrid and on-premises Cloud-based deployments; able to handle and contrast different/competing technologies and standards - containers, Kubernetes, Openstack, Mano/NFV, hypervisors, etc.
- Degree in computer science / telecom / electrical engineering or equivalent
