About this opportunity

As a Solution Architect (SA), you will be responsible for managing customer requirements and proposing solutions utilizing Ericsson and 3rd party products. The SA is engaged with the account team from pre-sales through the implementation and conclusion stages of the project as well as solution life cycle management. The SA should be proficient in handling constant change of scope and displaying leadership with respect to Ericsson resources as well as third party suppliers and subcontractors. As an SA you will be placed at the center of activities, entailing a high level of interaction with Product Units, Systems Integration teams as well as Customer Technical, Marketing and Business Development teams.

What you will do
Technical Coordination and Solution Architecture Design

  • Own end-to-end architecture with responsibility for the overall solution design and quality. The scope of the solution ownership will include Enterprise Application Integration involving use of TIBCO Suite, Oracle SOA Suite or comparable open-source alternatives
  • Create and maintain High Level and Detailed Architecture documents
  • Coordinate design, integration, testing and production rollout between IT, Security, Network Engineering, Client Development and third party vendors
  • Assure architectural alignment with the operator's Strategic Target Architecture
  • Create lab engineering plans and provide support to the test teams
  • Provide overall SME solution support - receive and answer requests related to processes, points of contact, design, documentation from various sources
  • Support technical discussions between wireless network operator groups and external partners
  • Develop and contribute requirements to JRDs, Work Requests, Change Requests, IT documents, etc.
  • Represent the CTO team in providing high level and detailed responses to the wireless operator executive management on issues or questions related to the solution
  • Review marketing forecast, evaluate the network impacts
  • Support commercial launch activities

Project and Product Support

  • Provide guidance to overall project planning, executive presentations, business cases and other project related deliverables, project status meetings.
  • Develop project requirements and create JRDs
  • Create Product Scope Documents (PSDs)
  • Submit CTO driven requirements to vendors via work requests, support SOW creation
  • Review vendor's solution documents (SOWs, Call-flows, IWS's, etc.)
  • Investigate the level of effort or involvement for project related items
  • Produce project related technical documentation
  • Lead or support creation of plan of record and product roadmaps

Operations Support

  • Participate in incident and performance evaluations, including RCA and solution correction reviews
  • Support resolution of operations related action items
  • Support operations by providing solution architecture oversight

You will bring

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering or acceptable combination of equivalent higher education and experience will be considered,
  • 12 + year's of industry experience in design, implementation and management of large enterprise network systems for telecom companies
  • 15 + year's overall experience in telecommunications, IT or service provider industry
  • Ability to architect and lead highly sophisticated solutions spanning multiple technologies, organizations and third party vendors
  • Strong hands-on TIBCO development skills
  • Advanced expertise in TIBCO products - BW, EMS, RV, Active Spaces, SAP Adapter, API Exchange, Hawk
  • Hands on experience with XML technologies: XSLT, XPATH, XSD
  • Hands on experience creating, validating and consuming WSDL, WADL
  • Experience with implementing web services in TIBCO Business Works
  • Understanding of SOA principles, best practices
  • Knowledge and experience with RDBMSs (Oracle 10i/11g)
  • Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing TIBCO Middleware software within complex application(s)
  • Prior experience with exposing and integrating with web services is needed
  • Strong background in working in developing complex middleware integration solutions with tight deadlines
  • Experience with SOAPUI, JMeter and other test tools
  • Strong knowledge of Java, JEE, SOAP & RESTful web services
  • Understanding of source version control using either SVN or GIT
  • Strong understanding of Agile practices - Scrum/Kanban and SDLC
  • Strong communication skills, inter-personal skills and prior demonstrable experience working with diverse multi-functional distributed team
  • Experience with creating requirements and call flow documents and test plans
  • Knowledge of wireless operator process (*)
  • Knowledge of the wireless operator organization including marketing, supply chain, CTO FFA and QE (*)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience in leadership role
