About the job
The Red Hat Ansible Engineering team is looking for a motivated Software Quality Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work as part of a group of highly talented engineers who are on a mission to grow the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform offering into different cloud providers. You will work closely with other Ansible Engineering teams for testing Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform managed services for our customers. You will automate tasks, get deep into source code and systems for performing root cause analyses of issues. You will also advocate for high standards of software engineering. You'll need to have the ability to think creatively and adapt to rapid change, as well as the willingness to learn new things. You should have have solid software automation background and br comfortable with testing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.

What you will do

  • Perform design reviews and automated testing for major features of and bug fixes for our offerings
  • Create test plans, research new features, develop automated tests, and maintain test frameworks
  • Work with software engineers to identify test strategies, build continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines, and continuous improvement plans for managed application delivery on the public cloud
  • Develop technical initiatives that will grow, improve, and scale our existing processes, as well as help us identify what we should be doing next
  • Work with customers to understand their issues

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with the agile methodology
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure Resource Manager Templates
  • Knowledge of CI and CD and Jenkins
  • Experience with JavaScript, Golang, or other coding languages
  • Open source contributions
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and Red Hat OpenShift
  • Knowledge of the web, HTTP, and the automated testing space
  • Industry experience
