The Software Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for performing application system testing, providing support to both the software development team as well as our production support team regarding our applications. This will include writing functional and regression testing plans, executing the test plans, and reporting and tracking defects to resolution. The Quality Assurance Analyst will triage production support issues and work with the Director of Software Development, Project Managers and Development staff to resolve issues. The Quality Assurance Analyst will also be involved in requirements reviews and design sessions and will document deliverable artifacts such as design documents, use cases, usage profiles and security models.'
The Software Quality Assurance Analyst reports directly to the Senior Software Engineer Manager.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and execute test plans to test new functionality for application releases
  • Develop, document, and execute manual regression test plans to test existing functionality
  • Develop and execute automated regression tests using the corporate regression testing tool
  • Develop and execute load test scripts using the corporate load testing tool
  • Identify issues, enter them into the corporate defect tracking system and work the issue to resolution
  • Administer and maintain regression test data, such as test user profiles and test case data
  • Administer non-production environments to support the test user profiles and the QA users
  • Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues
  • Provide and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the organization
  • Make recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers or engineers
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management
  • Test any new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications
  • May serve as a rotating member of Application Support team, serving as the first point of contact for
  • Level Two application support requests, triaging requests, working with resources to identify issue and testing changes made in support of issue resolution
  • Participate and contribute to requirement and design sessions.
  • Create test plans and other development artifacts such as design documents, use case documents, usage profiles and security models
  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality
  • Support and coordinate with other team members in the department

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years proven experience as a tester for major application integration and/or major application product release
  • 3+ years proven experience with industry leading testing tools
  • Problem-solving ability is critical
  • Operate standard office equipment including, but not limited to, computer, fax machine, and copier.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with software and systems

  • Certification in Quality Assurance
  • Proficient written and verbal skills
  • A reliable and highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently or as a part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with extreme attention to detail under set deadlines
  • Ability to plan and design projects with either very minimal or very specific direction
  • Ability to work with constructive criticism and flexibility, and willing to incorporate suggestions and feedback
  • Ability to work well both independently and with others
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
