SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...
You will be working on a team responsible for the iSCSI and SAN implementation for FlashArray. You will be solving problems of scale, performance and reliability of our iSCSI stack.
iSCSI is one of the primary data interfaces into the FlashArray family of storage devices.
We take the standard Linux-IO iSCSI target and take it to the next level to support enterprise scale of many thousands of initiators and volumes, and non-disruptive fail-overs. We are solving problems of performance and scale far beyond the typical server box.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
- 3 or more years of hands-on experience in kernel development, especially in the I/O stack
- Working knowledge of SAN protocols and specifications
- Expert in C and proficient in C++
- End-to-end diagnostics of I/O related issues, using tools like gdb, WireShark, LinuxPerf
- Mentor team members on Linux kernel development
- Negotiate features, scope and schedules with technical leads and business partners
Nice to haves:
- Experience in any of the block storage protocols like SCSI, NVMe, etc.
- Experience with Linux-IO Target or SCST
- Experience with initiator-side block storage stack (Multipath, iSCSI, Block, etc)
- Expertise in x86 performance and scalability (especially NUMA), multi-threading, lockless data structures
