Job Description As an experienced Software Engineer, your role will consist of evaluating and enabling emerging programming languages and associated technologies for use by software engineers across JPMC. We're seeking polyglot programmers who enjoy moving quickly from learning new languages to delivering software in those languages. The best fits for this role are self-starters, capable of working with minimal direction, and comfortable exploring new and unknown technology areas. As a team, we highly value participation in Open Source projects and communities and are deeply passionate about applying Open Source to solve complex system problems. Sometimes that includes problems like how to remediate software vulnerabilities at scale, or how to integrate a new language ecosystem into an enterprise-scale software delivery platform... but regardless our problems tend to always be an interesting language-focused mix of complexity + global scale.
If you're a Python developer, you would understand the differences between Anaconda and vanilla Python, and you have a strong opinion about Poetry vs. Pipenv (even if we can't always agree). If you're a Java developer, you've either written your own Maven/Gradle plugin or are excited to try, and you've tried your hand at alternative JVM languages like Kotlin, Scala, or Clojure. If you're neither of these, you've chosen your own similar adventures in your preferred language ecosystem.
