As a Software Engineering Senior Advisor, with a focus on Cloud and Data engineering, you will have the opportunity to expand your skills in a variety of areas while working on a data-focused delivery-team. On this team, you will be help architect and deliver a wide variety of code artifacts. You may work on and help transferring on-premises data to AWS cloud. In addition, you'll gain experience in CI/CD by utilizing Jenkins and Terraform. Our group has a focus on full cycle engineering - requirements gathering to production support - this means you will have an opportunity to work on a variety of problems to solve while gaining Teradata Vantage and Apache Spark experience. You will also have an opportunity to work on data analytics solutions using various business intelligence tools.

You may work on and build automated data pipelines, front-end tools and dashboards to display that data in meaningful ways, and APIs that allow other organizations to consume your data and services.

You will be challenged to:
• Help design, create, and manage continuous application/data delivery pipelines for your team's code and deliverables using Jenkins/GitHub/Udeploy /Conduit/Airflow & Cloudbees/Terraform
• Understand our Cigna corporate warehouse (Teradata /Teradata Vantage/ Apache Spark) environment and help identify insights/trends.
• Understand the Canonical data model and integrate the medical data from various source systems.
• Enable business users visualize, interact with, and understand our data by designing and building powerful web-based dashboards and applications.
• Interface with data behind-the-scenes by creating API's with programming languages like Python, or Scala (and others) with REST/GraphQL frameworks.
• Constantly learn and evaluate new technologies to see if they can bring value to the organization.

A desire and willingness to learn will be the deciding factor for applicants. Ideal applicants will be eager to work in a wide variety of domains and want to learn a great deal in each. They will have the technical aptitude to learn new technologies and form their own opinions about their applications. Since their work will span many different domains, they must have excellent communication skills, as working in isolation will simply not be an option. Finally, they will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the data, analytics, and engineering organization, and thus will be able to identify areas needing improvement and drive the effort to improve them.

Your team will act as your mentors and you will not be expected to know all of the technologies listed. Applicants with some exposure to the following will have a head start: Python, SQL, Teradata, Teradata Vantage, Apache Spark, REST APIs, AWS Cloud

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or comparable field preferred.

Must be a current contractor with Cigna, Express Scripts, or Evernorth. Evernorth is a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

This role is WAH/Flex which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This role is subject to the CMS (Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services) COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Full vaccination is required, meaning that workers in this position must have received one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two doses of an mRNA vaccine before the first day of work.
