You will lead a team of Software Engineers building products that provide visibility and insights into the reliability of PayPal's customer experiences. The team solves distributed systems problems at scale with a focus on correctness, consistency, and reliability.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with leadership, customers, partners and stakeholders to move initiatives forward, balancing competing needs and distilling a coherent strategy
• Lead high velocity Agile practices focused on results and engineering excellence
• Drive initiatives to implement observability best practices like SLOs and error budgets and evangelize those by partnering across PayPal business units
• Translate customer and stakeholder current and future needs into self-service products
• Lead with empathy and trust
• Coach and support engineers on the team, with a strong focus on feedback and growth
• Emphasize engineering best practices, iterative progress, delivering value, and data driven decision making

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering management
• 9+ years of experience in software engineering
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience mentoring and developing engineers in their career journey
• Knowledge in DevOps practices and tools
• Experience building solutions in the Cloud
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems
• Experience with Splunk/SignalFX and data warehousing solutions is a nice to have

Colorado Only: The pay range for this position in Colorado starts as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus or commission if a Sales role. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary.
