Are you a skilled people leader with experience managing a team of software engineers? Northwestern Mutual is looking for a dynamic individual to lead our Frameworks team. This person will be responsible for leading NM's effort to create the next generation of automation frameworks used by SDLC teams to accelerate, simplify, and automate software delivery.
We are looking for a person who will be able to survey the complex technology landscape in Engineering Solutions Delivery and prioritize the efforts with the biggest returns for our customers. Additionally, as a dynamic leader this person must help the team to know the latest on industry standard methodologies, implement best-in-class security processes, coach/encourage/server their team to continued greatness!
About the team:
As an integral part of NM's software delivery ecosystem, Engineering Shared Services (ESS) helps teams accelerate delivery by solving problems that matter through innovative shared technology solutions. We keep NM's delivery running smoothly and ensure our teams are best positioned to do their jobs through standardization, simplification, and automation.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to team.
  • Establish, aggregates, and shares team standards and standard practices across department.
  • Mentors, guides and coaches engineers within their division for technical and leadership growth
  • Recruit, hire and onboard talent within respective department, ensuring the right mix of talent within team.
  • Ensure production stability, monitoring, and root cause analysis for their products.
  • Partner with their team, customers, project managers, and leadership to develop/deliver a robust framework solution.

Q ualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of previous management experience required
  • 4-5 years of professional experience required
  • 3-5+ years of experience working with modern engineering tools, languages and practices.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and delivering significant and impactful technology solutions.
  • Experience developing and leading solution delivery using agile methods.
  • Capable of communicating between product, engineering, and the business.
  • Ability to successfully communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences in varying forms and levels of detail.
  • Leads the team to collaboration.
