We are growing fast and expanding our group of product teams dedicated to “Engage” - Intercom’s solution for conversational marketing and engagement. We consistently invest in building great products that work at scale - we recently shipped Transactional Messaging and Surveys along with a ton of smaller improvements across the platform. Our ambition is massive and we’ve only just scratched the surface - we are creating a product that supports all our customer messaging needs, leading the way on next generation approaches for relevant, personalised communication. We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to build and lead a product team in partnership with a Product Manager and Designer. Together you will shape the strategy and direction of your team and influence the broader Engage vision and strategy for years to come. You will directly manage engineers and be responsible for creating an engaging and inclusive engineering culture that delivers impact sustainably. You will support engineers in designing, building and managing systems that deliver billions of messages to the right people, at the right time and in the right place.
What will I be doing? 🚀
Delivering new or improved product experiences that clearly drive revenue growth for Intercom.
Partnering with engineering, product, and design leaders to shape team direction and strategy.
Enabling your team to achieve high levels of productivity, performance and reliability.
Teaching, mentoring, coaching and being a role model for engineers and other engineering managers.
Creating a collaborative, inclusive and supportive team culture focused on fast, focused, high impact execution.
What skills do I need? 📖

You are a people manager first and foremost, with a strong track record of growing engineers in their personal growth and career progression.
You have an eagerness to share and learn.

You have good stakeholder management skills, including with non-R&D stakeholders.

How will I be supported?
You’ll report directly to the Group Engineering Manager, who’ll start you off with a great onboarding plan.
