Job Description Do you want to work with cloud technologies implementing best of breed microservice-based applications supporting exponentially growing volumes working with leaders in the payment industry? Have you wanted to work for a fintech, yet been fearful of the stability of the balance sheet or the underlying business it was built on? The TEMPO organization within Corporate Investment Bank's Wholesale Payment Technology has the stability and financial backing that is needed to help you showcase your technical skills and acumen in software delivery. Working with cloud & container based scalable solutions providing capabilities for our clients and the e-commerce marketplaces that they serve. We will focus on technology and best practice discipline in delivery over strict financial background - yet that is always a plus!
You will manage a team of globally dispersed feature teams building these capabilities tying multiple payment systems together and providing, orchestrating and optimizing payment workflows from the onboarding process to an API-first, yet omni-channel, experience for our customers and their end users. Leveraging a wealth of resources and technology inclusive of but not restricted to: Java 1.8 and above, REST or RPC, JSON, JS, 12 factor build, SQL/relational datamodels with experience in Cassandra, Cockroach and noSQL structure a plus, Spring, ReactJS, AEM (Content Management), Kafka, AMPs, HAProxy, Grafana, Prometheus, Geneos, Kibana, Dynatrace, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, Zipkin, Sleuth, Splunk, Groovy, Gemfire, Hazelcast, GoldenGate or other replication technologies, selenium, JMeter, Cucumber, mockito, Apigee, UI Toolkit, Circuit breaker, Sentry.io, container management (AWS, K8, EKS), automation as a service/devops/python
While technology is important in the role, you will still be asked to ultimately lead the development feature teams, manage headcount and resourcing while working within a budget upwards of $10MM. You will be responsible for helping drive the backlog with your product partners using agile methodologies and navigating nuances in addressing technical debt and ensuring client features can be released to lead the market.

This role requires a variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience, Masters or equivalent preferred
  • Expertise in Resource Management; Technological, Organizational and/or Operational Change Management; Portfolio Management; Conflict Resolution; Negotiation; Budget/Financial Management, including Business Case Completion; Controls; and Partnership and Influence
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one technology discipline (e.g., software delivery, infrastructure management)
  • Ability to build an innovative culture
  • Strategic planning (e.g., roadmap creation and execution)
  • Experience in large-scale software development in one or more programming language
  • Expertise in working in partnership with colleagues throughout the firm and in leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals
