Software Engineering Lead / Manager -Java, AWS, React
Job Description
We have an immediate need for a Hands On Java, AWS, React Lead / Manager. You will be responsible for building out this growing team, mentoring junior developers and architecting systems enhancements in the small business lending space.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, such as:
- Mentor, Lead and help recruitment of a high performance engineering team
- Hands-on end-to-end project & product delivery responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and ensure high quality of deliverables
- Ensure team delivers timely to key milestones supporting a clear roadmap and requirements
- Clarify and defend architecture and design decision and ensure they are practical and feasible to implement by the team.
- Partner with technology peers and product owners and lead collaborative efforts to ensure a successful end-to-end project delivery
- Ability to translate functional requirements to technical design and requirements
- Perform code reviews, develop and review test scenarios
- Strong experience in Core Java, Object Oriented, SQL & Spring
- Strong experience in web development and modern JS Frameworks (ReactJS)
- Experience in architecting and building secure, highly available, resilient, scalable systems leveraging clustering and load balancing of web, app servers and messaging systems
- Knowledge of container based development, orchestration, micro services frameworks and tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, Jersey, Swagger etc.)
- Strong understanding of Agile methodology and leveraging SDLC tools to improve development and testing efficiency (JIRA, Jenkins, GIT, JUnit, Selenium)
- Experience with AWS
- Banking and payments domain background is a plus

A successful candidate will have experience managing a structured and agile software development lifecycle, mentoring, training and motivating his team, partnering effectively and planning cross-dependencies across the organization with Product and technology leads, architects, production management and senior leadership.
The candidate will be the senior engineering manager of the project for his site. Job will start as a lead of one scrum team and over the next year grow the team to 3-4 scrum teams mastering few technologies (Java, React, AWS) and work in collaboration with other engineering teams located in other countries.
