We are looking to hire a Software Engineering Director to lead our US based Engineering teams here at Fourth! This role will report directly to the VP of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for contributing to and managing strategic initiatives across global development teams alongside your role as the engineering leader for the US development teams. You will work very closely with the experienced development managers to ensure the technical decisions proposed by teams are viable and contribute to the longer-term strategy, you will contribute ideas and share technical views.

The Role. . .

• Manage and support the US engineering teams
• Work closely with the engineering managers to ensure the best technical decision are taken
• Drive strategic initiatives throughout engineering
• Ensure that training and personal development plan of software engineering teams are followed
• Evaluate team performance
• Present practical input for strategic technology decisions
• Support preparation of technology roadmaps across the region
• Comply with all professional departmental as well as company best practices

The Ideal Candidate. . .

• Prior experience at manager level of a software development team(s) with a background in software development
• Experience in a people manager role with a track record of managing high performing teams
• Effective communicator & negotiator - experienced speaking to all levels of technical & business stakeholders up to Board level
• Being detail orientated with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience working within an Agile/ Scrum environment
• Being comfortable in taking part in technical discussions, contributing to technical or architectural decisions around the direction of a product
