Job Description As a senior leader in Software Engineering, you will be leading a highly skilled team of cross-functional engineers that are solving some of the hardest problems in the Chief Technology Office. We look for individuals that have both a wide breadth of knowledge across many technology domains, as well as having expert-level skills in multiple languages/frameworks. Understanding of software artifact management process, controls and tools is required. The role will lead the team for firmwide library and image repositories in support of global SDLC processes. This will include both software delivery as well as vendor management. We need individuals that are passionate about technology with a bias for action and delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively to ensure team and organization standards are followed and the team is consistently focused on continuous improvements and sustained delivery.
  • Manage all internal repositories in support of the firmwide SDLC for Docker, Maven, NPM, yum, pypi , and any new package managers that are required by teams within the firm
  • Employ simple design and pragmatic implementation techniques to drive business value.
  • Be passionate about technology and constantly seek ways of learning new technology and practices.
  • Mentor organization to progress their technical and professional skills. Be open and actively seeking learning opportunities from more senior team members.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field or the foreign equivalent.
  • 10+ years experience working as a software engineer
  • Comfortable as a hands on developer with a strong desire to continue to grow this skill
  • Technologies
    • Languages - Expert-level with at least one language and multiple frameworks (such as Java/Spring Boot, Python/Django, JavaScript/React, etc).
    • Containers - Expert level implementation skills with container technologies (docker) and how they are deployed to a Kubernetes based platform.
    • Artifact Repositories - Expert level implementation skills with Artifactory, Sonatype Nexus, or similar products at scale. Strong knowledge of artifact repositories (Docker, Maven, NPM, yum, pypi, etc.)
    • Cloud Related Technologies - Experience with IaaS, PaaS and Kubernetes in a Hybrid Cloud Environment.
    • Git - Strong experience working with an SCM such as Git.
    • Database - Strong implementation skills across a wide range of database solutions.
  • Engineering Practices
    • TDD - Practical experience with unit testing and driving organizations to adopt
    • Pair Programming - Practical experience with promoting the practice.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken forms)

About the Team The Chief Technology Office oversees enabling components inclusive of the top quality engineering and architecture tools and practices, key program management and processes as well as the technology workforce strategy required to make us a leading technology company for our customers, clients and colleagues around the world.
