The Job Details are as follows:

OCLC Library Data Systems team provides the technology vision, design, and execution for synchronizing OCLC's key data assets with thousands of libraries across the globe at petabyte scale - harvesting, normalizing, transforming, and persisting billions of records. Are you someone excited about solving problems with a global footprint using cutting-edge distributed parallel computing technology and cloud native development models? We are looking for a seasoned software engineer to join the team and build massive ingest and processing data pipelines that deal with millions of transactions per second on platforms such as Hadoop, Postgres and Snowflake.

The right candidate will have the following skills, experiences, and attitude:

You are driven to understand new technology, architecture, and programing languages. You have direct experience building large scale distributed systems and taking them live to customers. You have a result-oriented aptitude with a passion for problem solving and a proven track record of delivering high quality products. You possess a disciplined engineering mindset that the best technology solution is only as good as it solves a problem for the customer.

You have 5+ years of demonstrated enterprise software development experience. You know how your customers use your products and are excited by the challenge of building something even greater. You continuously grow and evolve a solid reputation, promote quality solutions across the organization, influence team standards, mentor junior developers across and outside the team, build robust and thorough project documentation. You can run small/medium project independently and you are not afraid of seeking out opportunities to innovate and deliver values for the business.

Qualifications
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a Computer Science-related discipline
• 5+ years of proven experience in delivering complex, automated, highly scalable, highly available data pipelines
• Expert Java skills with 4+ years coding experience, proficient in object-oriented design, functional programming, and UNIX-like shell scripting
• Strong knowledge of Java Ecosystem - Spring Boot, Apache Tomcat, Maven, Gradle, Ant, JUnit, Spock, Mockito
• Direct experience working with Hadoop, Spark, Parquet/Avro, Kafka, RDBMS
• Good understanding of CI/CD and test automation
• Scala is desirable
