Within SCA-V (Single Complete Actionable- Vehicle), an excellent opportunity awaits on a team that is responsible for ingesting connected vehicle data streams that integrate with internal Ford systems crafting the future of vehicles. Connected Vehicle Data Team is a product line that delivers a scalable and extensible test and learn ecosystem that focuses on new sophisticated opportunities.
What you will be able to do:

  • Work hands-on with the team and other collaborators to deliver quality software products that meet our customer's requirements and needs.
  • Help GDIA Partners understand our iterative development approach and focus on delivering a Minimum Viable Product through careful and deliberate prioritization.
  • Mentor and train other Software Engineers to help them learn agile methods and build skills.
  • Help innovate and iterate on agile processes and share our findings.
  • Work in a Programming environment by growing technical capabilities / expertise and provide guidance to other members on the team
  • Support the data requirements of the different functional teams like MSS, PD, Quality, etc. and all the regional critical metric / Metrics initiatives -Evaluate, explore and select the right data platform technologies including Big Data, RDBMS NoSQL to meet the analytics requirements
  • Provide access to Data Quality issues and work with the business owners to fix the issues
  • Actively promote the concept of data standardization, integration, fusion and quality
  • Model data, build data flow diagrams, load, and transformation
  • Serve as data domain expert and demonstrate an understanding of key data management principles and data


Minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in Java
  • 2+ years' experience in PCF, Spring Boot.


Our preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience with database (MSSQL, SQL Server, HIVE etc)
  • Data design, data architecture and data modeling (both transactional and analytic)
  • Experience with real time streaming including Apache Kafka and NIFI
  • Experience in ingesting embedded modem data from VSDN/TMC
  • Practiced in eXtreme Programming (XP) fields including: Test-first/Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Using Microservices to help with scalability of production code through APIs
  • Develop and/or perform software automated testing procedures, solutions and frameworks to ensure software functions as needed
  • Highly effective in working with other technical experts, Product Managers, UI/UX Designers and business collaborators
  • Capable in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and pipelines such as Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, GitHub, etc.
  • Translate business requirements and specifications into usable and scalable software
  • Understand and assist with the technical infrastructure of an application or system Resolve and implement the software deployment process and solve performance issues.
  • Anticipate and communicate blockers, delays and cost ballooning within the team's projects.
  • Look for security vulnerabilities in coding
  • Develop data quality and validation routines Build distributed reliable and scalable data pipelines to ingest and process data in real-time and other unstructured data
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
