About the job
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will contribute to one of our most important and innovative projects: Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console, which is the customer-facing platform for most of Red Hat's managed cloud services . You will serve as an engineer implementing services that form the foundational platform for console.redhat.com. As a developer on the team, you'll write code, review pull requests, fix bugs all within an agile environment. You'll need to be someone who is smart, friendly, collaborative and one who loves to learn.
What you will do

  • Design, develop and deploy backend SaaS applications for the console.redhat.com platform
  • Collaborate and innovate cross-functionally with other engineers and developers to deliver creative solutions for our customers, including product and infrastructure enhancements
  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health
  • Work across many different teams and technologies to tie together existing systems and tools
  • Work with the Quality Engineering team to ensure that features are tested correctly


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology-related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in software development and engineering
  • Experience in Go and/or Python development
  • Experience with distributed version control system, such as GitHub or GitLab
  • Experience designing REST API interfaces
  • Experience with agile and comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English


Experience with the following are considered a plus:

  • Microservice architectures
  • OpenShift by Red Hat
  • Open-source software
