Software Engineer

Boingo's Application Engineering team is looking for a software engineer with Node, React experience and a solid understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and PHP (WordPress). It is also a big plus if you have SQL and .NET experience. You’ll need curiosity and a desire to learn new technologies to join this talented, cohesive and engaged team!

Responsibilities:

• Development/quality assurance of enterprise web applications 
• Recommend optimization processes and best practices.
• Maintain and assist with the management of dev test, build and QA environments
• Assist with development of unit testing and front-end automation testing
• Communicate and coordinate status with other teams for product features that have cross-functional dependencies
• Provide estimates of effort to support project planning using agile process
• Support and help diagnose operational issues as they arise
• Adhere to established standards and methodologies.
• Utilize tools and methodologies to improve individual effectiveness and to increase efficiencies in the development process
• Provide clear and concise documentation on tickets
• Provide proper tracking, linking and time logging to ticketing system for traceability

 Skills and Qualifications:

• 3+ years relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience with chosen technology stack
• Demonstrated expertise with UNIX/Windows/Mac platforms
• Mobile web experience (App development a plus)
• Understanding of HTML & CSS (SASS)
• Hands-on experience using JavaScript with related frameworks & libraries (NodeJS, React, jQuery)
• Understanding of SQL (MSSQL/MySQL), MongoDB
• Understanding of Agile process
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with discretion and sound independent judgment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree

 Nice-to-Haves:

• Katalon or other front-end automation testing tool
• Programming knowledge with experience in ASP.net, PHP
• GraphQL experience
• Natural curiosity and ability to adapt focus as needed
