Intern project : Recover Repository Explorer

Overview of Business Function

The OpenText data protection suite of products is built for the enterprise and offers real-time replication, complex migration, and high availability of mission-critical business systems. We provide our software solutions to a large number of longtime end customers, partners and software distrubutors throughout the world. Innovative products, combined with the best customer service in the industry offers a tremendous value to our customers and has been a market leader for several years.

Project Goal

Create a visual application that simplifies repository data visualization and modification. The application should be a Winform application written in C#. The following features are required:

  • Allow to enter credential as username/password or AccessToken. Those credentials are used to get access to Recover REST API.
  • Have a tree view that shows repository data in recover. On the left we see repositories (folders) and repository object (files). On the right we see selected object details.
  • The detail panel shows selected object content in JSON text format. The display needs to handle object with inner objects and many attributes (scrollbars).
  • The tree view allows user to navigate repository structure with double-click (like file explorer) from the root to subscriptions and any other repository children.
  • When object is selected, the user can edit JSON to modify and add attributes. A button is enable to allow to update the modified object in Recover Orchestrator.

Candidate should have experience with some of the following:

  • C#, .NET Framework, VisualStudio and Github experience.
  • Experience with REST API and JSON format.
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design
  • Basic UI design experience.
  • Experience with Winform application.
  • Experience with SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell commands and script.

Virtualization platforms such as vSphere, Hyper-V, XEN, etc.
