Job Description Within Corporate Tech Finance, this role is for Software Engineer who is passionate about solving problems with innovation and software development. The engineer will be part of a community of globally distributed engineers working to build and deploy code onto data platforms. The engineer will have the opportunity to participate in a culture of continuous improvement where experimentation with solutions, learning, and development is encouraged.
Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and unit test new or existing software features in an agile or waterfall environment.
  • Use technical knowledge, experience, and research to perform root cause analysis and resolve development or production issues.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure the final product is of high-quality
  • Practice test driven development and the utilize automated testing frameworks
  • Deliver quality production ready code
  • Stay current on industry trends and identify opportunities to adopt the latest methodologies into existing implementations
  • Willingness to learn new technologies or software development practices


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Engineering or related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Software Engineering
  • Development experience with Java or Python
  • Experience extracting data with SQL queries
  • Experience with toolset GIT, Maven, Jenkins or UNIX scripting
  • Experience with big data such as Hadoop, Impala, Spark SQL
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator with the ability to present to both technical and functional audiences
  • Team oriented collaborator

  • Familiar with Financial Services
  • Developing in a cloud environment
