Title: Software Engineer in Test Automation
Onsite/Remote:Partial Remote Position
Your Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer in Test Automation for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group located in Urbandale, IA, you will be responsible for delivering and leading efficient verification of precision agriculture application solutions to the market. In addition, you will:
- Collaborate with software development teams and test engineers to develop high quality test plans using automated tests so we can fail fast and learn quickly about the quality and performance of our precision ag products and concepts.
- Identify innovative ways to automate/simulate test plans, execute automated tests, communicate results, and drive cross-functional teams to root cause and resolution.
- Troubleshoot and debug automated test cases to enable optimal test coverage at the appropriate system layer.
- Use a deep understanding of software solutions being implemented coupled with understanding of customer needs to ensure solutions meet those needs.
What Skills You Need
- Proficiency in software development in Python, C++, Java or equivalent object-oriented programming language. A live code pair will be part of the interview procedure.
- Ownership, curiosity, and demonstrated ability to achieve results through self-directed individual contributions and by inspiring others in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in the design, development, testing, or integration of products/projects, especially electrical and mechatronic systems
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with QT framework
- Experience with CAN communication protocols such as J1939 and ISO 11783
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies
- Writing Unit Tests, Test Driven and Acceptance Test Driven Development
- Software development experience at John Deere
- Understanding of John Deere equipment
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology related discipline.
