Integrated Banking Services (IBS) is a hosted core processing system easily scalable to meet theneeds of banks from $500M to $50B in assets. IBS is processed in a 'service bureau' environment using one version of the source code for all financial institutions. It is a highly integrated system usinga comprehensive set of bank processing parameters to define products and attributes. This position is part of the Dev Ops team with responsibilities across the entire suite of IBS products.
What you will be doing:
The Software Engineer is part of the Dev Ops team with responsibilities across the entire suite of IBS products. You will be part of a collaborative team consisting of resources in the US and Global Development Organization that provides support, oversight, and guidance to the Agile Release Trains in IBS. As an experienced professional on the team, you will provide input and also mentor/support less experienced members of the team.
What you bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or 12+ years of work experience.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry
  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles, e.g., agile, iterative and other modern approaches to software development
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts
  • Willingly and successfully fulfills the role of teacher, mentor and coach


Added bonus if you have:

  • Knowledge of FIS products and services; in-depth knowledge of Sales Management or the SAS Suite of products is a bonus
  • Experience with integrated systems

FIS JOB LEVEL DESCRIPTION
Expert role. Has team leadership duties, including instructing, assigning and checking the work of other Software Engineers. Assists in planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the team. Coordinates the activities of the team with other IT teams and the product management team. Specialized depth and/or breadth of skills, experience and proficiency. Acts as expert technical resource to software engineering staff in the development, testing and implementation processes. Frequently acts as a Project Leader. Receives general direction from management. Assists in all levels of supervision and may perform management functions in the absence of the Manager or may act as Project Manager for major projects. Does not have hire, fire, performance coaching/development authority. Typically requires ten or more years software engineering experience.
