Software Engineer II, Remote
Location/Division Specific Information
Remote / Materials and Structural Analysis Division - Gas Analysis

How will you make an impact?
You will work with a team that develops software products that enable our customers to use spectroscopic instruments and information to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. As part of an agile scrum team, you will play a key role in creating a world-class user experience for our customers around the globe and help support our digital science vision.

What will you do?• Collaborate with your team to plan and complete features to build software that delights our customers• Use your design skills to develop software features that deliver high reliability, reusability, performance, and security• Use your passion for continuous improvements to increase the quality of our software and improve our development processes• Use your desire for personal growth to continuously learn and participate in developmental opportunities• Adhere to software development practices for code design, development, test, and release

How will you get here?
Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline OR High School Degree/(GED) with relevant experience in software development

Experience
HS Degree/ GED: 5+ years software product development experience
BS: 2+ years software product development experience
MS: 0+ years software product development experience
• Familiar with Agile software development concepts and tools such as JIRA• Proficient with Microsoft development environments including C# and the .NET Framework• Proficient with MVVM, event-driven design, and interface-based object-oriented software design• Experience with WPF and Prism is desirable• Familiar with client-server software design

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities• Ability to work in a software team that is part of a multi-disciplinary development effort• Desire to write clean and maintainable code, strive for TDD• Interest in science and ability to learn basic scientific principles• Highly motivated team player with a desire to keep learning• Strong written and verbal communications skills• Analytical thinking with effective problem-solving skills
