As a Software Engineer, this person will be developing and supporting software that breathes life into our MR product line. Initially, this role will focus on delivering fixes for regressions, improving debuggability, and eliminating technical debt and code smells. All of which are key to accelerating the release of bringing up new products to customers. As you mature in your knowledge of our codebase, you will be responsible for improving and re-architecting existing components and subsystems, as well as bringing up new products and features to support the growth of MR, both in terms of functionality, simplicity, scalability, and availability. Our projects are driven by technological innovation and developer creativity in addition to market demands, giving you the structure and freedom to pursue projects you are most passionate about. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across teams to craft systems that enable us to tackle complex problems for our customers. You are an ideal candidate if you have:
- You're passionate about solving real customer problems and have experience prototyping, shipping, and iterating on new products
- You are willing to learn, jump in and solve problems, regardless of where in the stack it is!
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant software development experience
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Experience developing and troubleshooting in a Linux environment
- Foundational IP networking knowledge and basics of core networking protocols in OSI layers 3 through 7 (IPv4/6, TCP/UDP, DNS, DHCP, ARP, HTTP,TLS)
Bonus points for:
- You’ve some familiarity with relational databases before, either directly via SQL
- Familiarity on any one or more of following backend technologies - Ruby (and Rails), Scala, Go, PostgreSQL OR strong will to learn !
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience working with Git, Gerrit, Jenkins and JIRA
- Knowledge of wireless protocols (e.g., 802.11r, 802.11v, 802.11r, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, Zigbee, 4G)
