Job Description As member of our Software Engineering Group we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation & engineering practices. You will be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. As a software engineer on the Partner Engineering team within Connected Commerce, you will develop high quality code that exposes Chase's capabilities to external partners. You will build solutions that provide delightful partner experiences and help identify opportunities to develop partner solutions that are broadly applicable while expanding our customer value proposition. You will also help build proof-of-concept & simulation applications to validate and test partner solutions being built by other engineering teams. Your experience in application design, solutions architecting, development and testing will be required to solve complex problems. As an engineer on the Partner Engineering team, you will participate in design reviews, provide input to design recommendations. You will participate in planning sessions with team members to analyze business requirements and contribute to the proposed IT solution. You will be expected to perform code reviews as a member of the team to provide feedback to team members while ensuring that all solutions are aligned to design specifications. You will thoroughly unit test application code to ensure at least 85% code coverage. We build elegant & resilient products that scale while avoiding unnecessarily complex implementations and expect our engineers to have the same mindset.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS in Computer Science / Engineering or a similar technical degree
  • Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages in particular, the Java/J2EE stack
  • Experience with building APIs - RESTful APIs, Web Services, Spring Boot
  • Working knowledge of RDBMS, SQL, NoSQL.
  • Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Version Control tools (BitBucket, Git)
  • Strong coding fundamentals - Algorithms & Data Structures
  • Angular JS, React and/or JavaScript UI development is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture & application design processes.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Passion for automating & excelling at identifying gaps in processes
  • Strong bias for action; ability to take ownership and think long-term.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic
