This is a phenomenal opportunity within our engineering organization which supports our Investment, CRM, and Career Distribution business areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Java and how it applies to various applications within our portfolio tied to our infrastructure. What you'll get to do:
Apply engineering methodologies to analyze, craft, develop, deploy and support software solutions, and/or infrastructure implementations/upgrades. You'll develop software and systems using TDD and continuous integration practices by establishing monitoring and automation processes with teamwork and persistence. Supply to the innovation of software solution development with minimal direction on large projects. Consult on right-sizing decisions, and services. Recognized as having expert knowledge and providing day-to-day leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering standard methodologies in order to analyze and develop software solutions.
  • Develop software using established development and continuous integration practices.
  • Use established monitoring and automation processes.
  • Conduct code evaluation and participate in setting team standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years professional experience required
  • At least 1 year experience with specific technical requirements/platforms (i.e. Java, JavaScript, .NET, Python)
  • Familiarity using continuous integration and deployment concepts
  • Familiarity with public cloud and associated technologies (AWS, Azure, Containerization)
  • Strong technical skills
  • Understanding of your business domain
  • Ability to mentor new team members
  • Can communicate clearly to the business


Nice to have

  • Familiarity with mainframe environments
  • Experience with AWS, experience with virtualization and containerization
  • Experience with CICD concepts, and tools, branching strategies and demonstrating knowledge to assist in delivering an infrastructure as a product.
  • Solid grasp of traditional or cloud computing technologies including Networking, Compute, Storage, Development, Data, Operations, or Security.
