Who we are:

Argo AI is in the business of building self-driving technology you can trust. With experienced leaders in the field and collaborative partnerships with some of the world’s largest automakers, we’re building self-driving technology that is engineered to scale globally and transform mobility for millions.

Talented individuals join our team because they share our purpose to make it safe, easy, and enjoyable for everyone to get around cities. We aspire to impact key industries that move people and goods, from ride hailing to deliveries.

Meet the team:

The Argo AI Prediction team is responsible for designing and building systems that allow an autonomous vehicle to understand the current scene around it and to predict how it will evolve in the future. The Prediction team analyzes the output generated by the perception teams and anticipates the likely intents and future trajectories of nearby objects so our vehicle can make safe and comfortable driving decisions.

Working on metrics and tooling, you'll play a key role in helping this team be its best. You'll use your creativity and initiative to come up with better ways to quantify vehicle and prediction performance, deliver key information, eliminate bottlenecks, automate tedious tasks, and help our team continually improve.

The Prediction team is distributed across Munich, Pittsburgh, and Palo Alto and all groups work very closely with each other. We are open to remote work under the right circumstances and have a number of team members who currently work remotely.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate closely with your prediction teammates to understand their workflows and how they can be improved
  • Design, implement, and deliver innovative tools, pipelines, and infrastructure that address those needs
  • Understand and help quantify the performance of the vehicle, especially in the area of prediction
  • Design, implement, and deliver metrics that help inform and guide development of the system
  • Build great visual tools and data visualizations for metrics
  • As needed, jump in and help team members deliver new and improved autonomy capabilities
  • Work in cooperation with other teams at Argo to use and improve common infrastructure

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills
  • Must have a great attitude, a passion for supporting your teammates, the creativity to come up with new approaches, and the initiative to make it happen
  • No background in robotics or machine learning necessary, but must have the willingness to learn enough about those areas to be effective
  • Ability to deliver and support high impact, reliable tools in fast moving environments
  • Strong abilities in some combination of C++, Python, SQL, OpenGL, and various cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, etc). You certainly don't have to be an expert in everything, but you should be willing to quickly learn and adapt new or unfamiliar technologies
  • A strong background in data structures, algorithms, and performance is helpful

What we offer you:

  • High-quality individual and family medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Competitive compensation packages
  • Employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan with immediate vesting
  • Employer-paid group term life insurance and the option to elect voluntary life insurance
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid medical leave
  • Unlimited vacation
  • Complimentary daily lunches, beverages, and snacks
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Monthly wellness stipend
  • Professional development reimbursement
  • Employee assistance program
  • Discounted programs that include legal services, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and more
  • Company and team bonding outlets: employee resource groups, quarterly team activity stipend, and wellness initiatives

Our Background:

Argo AI was founded in late 2016 by industry experts with extensive experience building robotic systems for commercial applications. Our once-small team has since grown into an over 1,000-person strong company with strategic partnerships with two of the world’s leading automakers: Ford and Volkswagen. Our self-driving system is the first with commercial deployment plans for Europe and the U.S., and thanks to an ability to tap into both automakers’ global reach, our technology platform has the largest geographic deployment potential of any self-driving technology to date.

At Argo AI, we believe that embracing differences delivers superior results. We are an equal opportunity employer that is committed to an inclusive environment for all employees.
