The Xbox Productivity and Fundamentals Team empowers the engineering systems (ES) and productivity tools used by Xbox and Gaming at Microsoft to produce the amazing gaming products that customers love so much. We are responsible for build, source, tooling, and engineering productivity tooling. We contribute much of what we do back to other organizations such as Windows, Azure, Hololens, and more. We are always looking to modernize, improve and make more efficient the tools we use to build gaming solutions while increasing satisfaction among our primary customer, the engineers that work and build gaming solutions. Ultimately, we build solutions that support and delight our customer, the gamers and game developers.
We are looking for a solid lead to join the team and help drive clarity, engagement, vision and team growth. You will work in partnership with the rest of the Xbox ES teams, the broader Xbox engineering organizations and our partner ES teams in the broader Windows organizations (AE+P and WDX) and elsewhere in the company as needed to ensure we continue to improve overall efficiency and capabilities in engineering systems.ResponsibilitiesAs the lead for the team, you will have a team of about 7 people with the goal to help them on their career paths as well as leading them to more efficient and effect engineering systems for Team Xbox to use in making the next generation of gaming products and services. Your goal is not just to build the best engineering system around but one that is well liked by the engineers because it helps them to do their jobs effectively.Qualifications5+ years of experience with Engineering Systems is desired or equivalent dev experience.
5+ years of experience managing people.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent industry experience
Good written and oral communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with rapidly changing requirements
Ability to analyze complex problems to determine best course of action.
