The Workers' Comp and Auto No-Fault division of Optum collaborates with our clients to deliver value beyond transactional savings while helping ensure claimants receive safe and effective clinical care. As a Software Engineer LAMP Developer, you will team up with multiple levels of IT associates all the way to management. You'll perform advanced-level application analysis, design, development, unit testing and implementation activities. You will also get to provide input and feedback to others on topics of architecture, design, code quality, and security infrastructure.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate as a member of an agile team
  • Partner with development teams to design, develop, and deliver clean, efficient code based on business and innovation specifications
  • Encourage best practices in creating effective designs and writing maintainable, reusable code
  • Support and troubleshoot production environments and production issues
  • Ability to continuously learn and improve as an Engineer

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in full software development
  • 2+ years of experience in Visual Studio, LAMP with .NET MVC, Java script, and jquery
  • 2+ years of Experience working with Angular


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT related or equivalent field
  • Passionate about software development and delivering high quality applications
  • Experience in Agile Applications Development and Scrum methodologies
  • Solid communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Flexibility to balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, and collaborate with others as integral part of the team
  • Experience working with legacy monolithic type architectures and refactoring to modern day architectures and frameworks
  • Experience working with Git based source control, branching, and workflows
  • Experience working with Angular framework 7+, including npm, Angular CLI, and TypeScript
  • Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Design-Patterns, SOA, IOC, and Dependency Injection

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000. The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $71,400 to $127,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
