Job Description This role is for an experienced full stack software engineer working on our new, cutting edge portfolio exposure engine - ES2. Leveraging a fully cloud native stack incorporating AWS, Apache Ignite, and Kafka you will be using the latest software engineering techniques including CI/CD and infrastructure as code to deliver value to the business in fast paced and modern environment. ES2 is the heart of the new portfolio management ecosystem being developed within Asset Management and when complete will support 1000+ users and the management of over $2.2 trillion of client money. This is a highly technical but also business based role that offers the right candidate the opportunity to grow and develop their skills whilst working on an exciting, innovative and business critical product.
As an outstanding software engineer you will:
• Demonstrate an ability for self-directed learning.
• Possess excellent technical and design skills with an understanding of functional design patterns
• Be quality focused with an understanding and appreciate of code review and automated testing
• Be self-starting with the ability and confidence to drive and deliver solutions into production
Essential qualifications and experience
• Excellent knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin
• Extensive knowledge of core computer science (data structures/algorithms/networks)
• Strong understanding of software performance and trade-offs
• Experience of developing for private and public cloud
• Experience of continuous integration and deployment tools and approaches
• Experience with a functional language a strong plus (F#, Scala, OCaml, Haskell, etc)
