Software Engineer - Java Engineer (Employee Engagement Systems)
Job Description As an Software Engineer within JPMC, EECT - Workforce Technology, you will work with business and Technology leadership to understand the technology and business strategy, and the impacts to application(s) under responsibility. You will be accountable to Business and Technology Management for end to end application scoping, planning, development, implementation and post-implementation maintenance and support. For each project, you will work with a team of experienced analysts and developers to translate business and technical requirements into application modules. You will contribute to the development of models by providing design recommendations and developing and integrating programs per written specifications. You will deliver software application modules in an iterative manor leveraging the AGILE methodology. You will support the production environment by identifying root cause for critical system issues to ensure timely resolution and minimize impact to the business partner.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across all systems
- Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
- Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
- Passionate about building an innovative culture
- Development and implementation of enhancements/changes; involvement with installations and Release Management; issue resolution process for any application production problems
- 10+ years Java, Spring/Spring boot, J2EE, Spring
- Experience or hands-on knowledge on developing applications for cloud and clear concepts on cloud design patterns
- Advanced knowledge of BPMN , Decision modeling, API gateway design
- Demonstrated teamwork and ability to work with diversified multi-location team
- Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
- Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
- Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
- The work will also entail working with analysis personnel to define solutions and implement them with a minimal amount of guidance, in a fast-paced environment
