Please review the following job description:

Provide technical leadership for delivery of Workday and Human Capital Systems solutions. Deliver highly complex solutions with significant system linkages, dependencies, and associated risks. Lead and perform development efforts such as analysis, design, coding, and testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Participates in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalation support of Truist's most complex solutions.

2. Development includes, but is not limited to, customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or use of tools pertinent to the project or system to configure or generate a solution.

3. Ensures adherence to Truist and industry standards. Provide technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations.

4. Develops and executes unit test scenarios.

5. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering system capacity and limitations.

6. Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices.

7. Uses sophisticated analytical thought leadership to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.

8. Mentors, coaches, and provides knowledge to less experienced teammates to build technical expertise.

9. Does not have management responsibilities. This position serves as the technical expert on the team and is often the strongest engineer, answering and solving the most complex, unusual issues. This position is
aligned at the same level as an entry level manager.

10. In an Agile environment: Act as an Agile champion. Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, and consulting with, the business from the beginning of the design work. Leverages continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design. Actively participates in refining user stories. Responsible for development, unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing. Responsible for providing warranty support and delivering knowledge transfer to production support. Develops code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and at least ten years of experience as a developer or equivalent education and related training or experience. Experience must include development of Workday and Human Capital Systems solutions.

2. Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge

3. Sound understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes

4. Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices

5. Ability to lead complex initiatives

6. Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical and business problems

7. Ability to influence others at senior levels to adopt a new perspective

8. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with business and technology stakeholders, including senior level managers.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master's degree and at least 15 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

2. Banking or financial services experience

3. Deep knowledge and experience with two or more of the following: Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills

4. Professional experience building apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level

5. Experience with Open Source tools and frameworks

6. Strong understanding of SOA methodologies and service architectures

7. Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies

8. Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling)

9. Experience with messaging systems (i.e., MQ and JMS)

10. Experience with build tools.
