What you'll do...
The Walmart Emerging-Tech group is a new group charted to drive the creation of the next generation retail and shopping experiences for both online and in-store. The group leads Walmarts efforts in the areas of Conversational AI, Voice Assistants, Extended Reality and more. The groups focus is to explore and build prototypes of innovative shopping experiences and build platforms to enable scaling of these experiences.
As an example, the voice assistant team within this group has launched experiences like AskSam for associates and Walmart Voice Order for customers ( https://medium.com/walmartglobaltech/building-a-conversational-assistant-platform-f or-voice-enabled-shopping-6d174cdc4131) . In addition to the end-user experiences the group also builds platform APIs and tools to enable other teams within Walmart to build and scale experiences using these next-generation technologies.
At Text-to-Shop, we show how we deliver on our promise of helping people save money and live better with conversational commerce. The experience far exceeds the expectation of text and chatbot services. We are building a seamless shopping experience to back our customers when they need it, which is human, personalized, and efficient.
In this role, you will

• Build the most innovative shopping experience for online and in-store customers;
• Design and build services, platforms and tools to scale creation of conversational shopping experiences across Walmart;
• Solve real customer problems and help hundreds of millions of Walmart customers to save money and live better.

Requirement:

• Solid understanding at data structures, algorithms, computer network and database systems
• Strong design, architecture, problem-solving and communication skills;
• An entrepreneurial mindset who can achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment;
• Experienced with microservice architecture, deployed code with modern CI/CD with virtualization and containerization technology, been able to write high quality code in an object-oriented language - preferably in Java.

Preferred:

• Background in e-commerce or retail
• Experience building or leveraging chat bot and NLP/NLU modules
