Job Description
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.
As a Software Engineer III -AWS Architect at JPMorgan Chase, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.
You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Creating technical design specs for a multi-region across availability zone deployments.
Creating Cloud Products to ease out the automation and governance of cloud deployments for Product teams.
Maintaining the security, performance, resilience, and cost for the cloud deployments.
Extensive use of Amazon web
Work on clustering strategies of RDS and NoSQL Cloud Databases and implementing the latest features by rolling upgrades ensuring higher availability.
Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Should have been working for as a DevOps/Cloud Engineer and evolved to be an Architect
  • Should have worked on AWS Cloud Environments in depth.
  • Hands-on experience of working on containers and its orchestration using Kubernetes and ECS.
  • Should have worked on AWS Cloud services like compute, storage, databases, network, application integration, monitoring, alerting, Identity & Access Management.
  • Should have been working in an Infrastructure as a code environment or understands it very clearly to be able to review it.
  • Should have done Infrastructure coding using Terraform and Configuration Management using Ansible.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • AWS certifications, Kubernetes certification, or the likes.
  • Relevant experience in a product organization in a Cloud Architect role
  • AWS security services like GaurdDuty, Inspector, Cognito, WAF & Shield.
  • Worked on one or more Programming language (preferably Java or C#)
  • Worked on infrastructure design and implementation of serverless applications

The Cybersecurity & Technology Controls group at JPMorgan Chase aligns the firm's cybersecurity, access management, controls and resiliency teams. The group proactively and strategically partners with all lines of business and functions to enable them to design, adopt and integrate appropriate controls; deliver processes and solutions efficiently and consistently; and drive automation of controls. High Risk Roles (HRR) are sensitive roles within the technology organization that require high assurance of the integrity of staff by virtue of 1) sensitive cybersecurity and technology functions they perform within systems or 2) information they receive regarding sensitive cybersecurity or technology matters.
