In the Software Engineer II role, you will be an integral part of the Engineering team, responsible for developing the core backend capabilities that will have the largest impact on value and experience for our application’s users. Stavvy is a fast growing organization so you will also have the opportunity to flex into other projects as our organization continues to evolve.

What you'll do

• Write production ready Python and/or Java code
• Develop back-end components to improve responsiveness and overall performance
• Integrate user-facing elements into applications
• Test and debug programs
• Improve functionality of existing systems
• Assess and prioritize feature requests
• Collaborate with our product, design, and development teams in order to fully create and understand the requirements for what is necessary to be produced
• Fully participate in the agile development process (code reviews, sprint planning, stand-up meetings, ect…)
• Mentor/Collaborate with other engineers on the Stavvy team so that we may all progress further.

Who you are

• Creative, skilled, and self-driven Software Engineer with 3+ years of professional experience
• Either proficient in Python or you have a hunger for learning new languages and are willing to learn and develop full-time with Python primarily
• Capable of writing complex backend code for a publicly accessible web application with aspirations to scale its user base dramatically
• Committed to collaborative problem solving and sophisticated design
• Natural collaborator and problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments
