The Software Engineer II will be part of a small development squad on this highly mission-driven, innovative healthcare technology platform focused on developing our search solutions and medical knowledge graph. Our squads enjoy full autonomy regarding how they go about delivering against long and short-term goals, helping to ensure alignment and quality.

This project enjoys a particularly high-profile within Elsevier and you will be supported to grow your development/engineering skills in collaboration with our diverse, supportive team.

Preferred experience and technology requirements:

  • 3 or more years as a Software Engineer delivering quality software in an Agile environment.
  • Strong hands-on, application development experience using Python.
  • Experience developing APIs.
  • Experience building unit tests.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience developing for the cloud (AWS/Azure) is desirable.



ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
  • Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
  • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Resolve technical issues as necessary.
