About the Role
As a Web Engineer on the Uber Rider Verticals team, you'll work on the products used by millions globally every day. In hundreds of cities, people tap their phones or click their mouse to get a ride, get food delivered, or earn extra cash with Uber. We're looking for future team members who would like to expand where we meet our users - helping Uber move beyond the app.
The Rider Verticals team at Uber is expanding what it means to Uber on the web. This role presents an opportunity to re-think an entirely new way to Uber with web technologies being front and center.
The majority of travel planning related transactions are happening on the web, as users prefer the convenience of a larger screen and easier typing. In addition, over the past 2 years, many have spent a lot of time on their desktop computers and garnering a planner's mindset. We believe this presents the next large opportunity for the Mobility organization here at Uber.
What We're Looking For ----
• At least two (3) years of software engineering experience• Experience with HTTP/REST and web technologies like gRPC and Protobufs• Experience working with and instrumenting web-metrics, monitoring and analytics systems• Deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms and an ability to use them practically when implementing solutions• Proven experience with leading projects and mentoring junior engineers• A phenomenal teammate and owner- willing to take on ownership of the systems, and think about operations, maintenance and reliability of his/her systems.• Design & Engineer our latest product solutions and platforms from inception through to delivery at Uber scale.• Your ideas get to shape the direction and strategy in solving some of Uber's hardest problems, you'll have a key seat at the table in how we turn ideas into magical solutions for our customers.• Work through multi-functional partners across Uber teams to drive consensus and ship your features.• Collaborate and brainstorm with peers including Engineering, Product, Operations and Business partners

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience• Experience coding using Javascript and web frameworks (eg. React, Angular, etc.)

• Modern js frameworks• UX• Static typing systems• KOA• GraphQL
• • • For Colorado-based roles: The salary/hourly rate range for this role is $123,930 per year - $137,700 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award, commissions, & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
