About the Role
Collaborates with stakeholders within the team to build and maintain backend services and solutions to support user-facing products, downstream services, or infrastructure tools and platforms used across Uber.
About the Teams:
Logistics Realtime Optimization: Pool/UberX Share matching utilizes a graph-based data model to make matching decisions. This leads to tradeoffs between creating efficient routes for drivers and couriers to fulfill requests, and the associated negative impact to the end customer as a result of batching requests together. You will optimize for Uber's top and bottom line by making tradeoffs as to what request orderings are generated, what set of orderings are ideal, and when to dispatch them.
Product Experience: The goal of Pool/UberX Share is to allow riders with overlapping trips to be serviced by the same driver. This allows for a discounted fare for the riders as well as potentially serving more riders' requests with a limited number of drivers. This leads to challenges in appropriately pricing trips, distributing savings between riders, drivers and Uber as well as being transparent with riders about the time/price trade-offs of sharing a trip compared to an UberX type of trip. You will work with Product and designers to create experiences that emphasis the value proposition of a Shared Ride and allow riders to make informed choices of when a Shared Ride is their best transport option.
Consumer Experience Prediction teams' mission is to ensure delightful customer experience by accurately estimating delivery times. Our main focus is ETD (Estimated Time of Delivery) accuracy, ETD experience and empowering Delivery growth by providing magic timeliness experience for new verticals (e.g. groceries, pharmacy, alcohol etc.). The impact of these predictions affect hundreds of millions of dollars of gross booking for the company.
Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BE degree in Computer Science or related fields.
  • At minimum 3 years of engineering experience
  • Strong problem solving and coding skills. Competitive programming experiences are highly preferred.

Technical skills:
Preferred:
