About the Team:
Uber has enabled millions of people globally to achieve the dream of having a flexible livelihood. Digital payments are fundamental to the Uber experience, but many riders around the world don't share the same experience and have to pay with physical cash.
The mission of the Financial Products team is to help digitize people's cash and provide simple, easy, and exciting payment experiences. The team has ownership of powering Uber Cash, Gift Cards, and the new Uber Money initiative. In doing so, we're also building products that offer convenience and simplicity for Uber and its customers to enable promotional and cashback programs that drive Uber's growth and brand dedication.
On this team, we build new products and services that will work with the entire Uber platform and every line of business. We ship on a global scale and pursue pivotal initiatives in various markets to empower Uber's business.
As a Software Engineer II, you will closely collaborate with product, design, and business teams to understand product ideas and business needs and help deliver these as a series of fast experiments. You'll implement native user interfaces using the latest iOS technologies and will drive adoption of the best coding standards, testing, and maintainability. You will play an active role in the team's technical design choices, code reviews, and documentation and will mentor and guide new engineers joining the Financial Products team.
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 1-year full time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 1-year total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:• Native iOS• iOS swift, iOS objective C• Note the 1-year total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The year of specialized experience is not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full time work experience indicated.
