THE CHALLENGE

Eventbrite’s self-service platform enables event organizers to seamlessly plan, promote, and ticket millions of events every year. THE TEAM

The Creator Acquisition team is focused on helping people find and get started creating events on Eventbrite. We work closely with Marketing, SEO specialists, and other Product teams to optimize our site for paid and organic search traffic, including building tools for the creation of landing pages, running UI experiments, and supporting several key backend services.


We take an agile and collaborative approach to our work. We meet daily to share progress and identify impediments, hone our skills through code reviews and pairing, perform demos of the code we ship, and retrospect so that we continue to learn and grow with each other. THE ROLE

As a Software Engineer II on the Creator Acquisition team, you will touch all layers of our code, gain exposure across our platform, and work with stakeholders throughout the company. You might be making CSS changes one day and performing load testing of a remote Python service the next. You’ll rely on your existing full-stack knowledge base, your growth mindset, and your teammates to deliver on ambitious goals. You'll mentor other engineers and contribute to a robust learning culture. You'll be proactive, curious, and accessible.

THE SKILL SET

  • You have proficient experience building applications at scale in at least one popular programming language, such as Python, Javascript, PHP, Ruby, C#, etc.
  • You have proficient experience using some form of web framework: Django, Express, Rails, ASP.net, etc.
  • You have proficient experience using a SQL database
  • You are an efficient, practical programmer with a record of designing and producing dependable code
  • You are a results-driven self-starter with great communication and collaboration skills; we put a lot of emphasis on being team players
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to write readable, testable code
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (Slack, email, documentation, etc.)
  • Ownership mindset and ability to be part of an on-call rotation
  • Proven ability to grow yourself and those around you

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience with Python/Django and React/Redux
  • Knowledge of search engine algorithms and crawlers
  • Experience working in a container environment like Docker
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools like CircleCI
  • Experience working with cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
