The Access Solutions Group works with multiple customers to develop software to meet their specific needs, and our standard project is integrating a third-party device and controlling it from the Beckman scheduling software to be used as part of a larger experiment.

This role can be in San Jose or Indianapolis.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate on multi-functional product research and development teams, product or system design reviews
  • Troubleshoot technical issues remotely to support our customer base
  • Collect, interpret and document software requirements
  • Estimate and quote custom work for customers
  • Assist remote field personnel diagnose and solve device integration issues



Qualifications:

  • Some experience with C# and the .NET Framework
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with engineering team, technical support personnel and customers
  • Demonstrated teamwork and a focused urgency and willingness to manage multiple short and moderate duration projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in Software Development



Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL and database technology
  • Willingness to travel and assist or train customers at site of development
  • Experience working in an agile development process
  • Understanding of functional language programming (e.g. Scheme, F#)
  • Experience handling technical support tasks including gathering of diagnostic information
